In my last entry, I wrote about a librarian type person who helped me muster up the courage to sign up for a century ride. I first must apologize to the “M.L.I.S” (that's Master of Library and Information Sciences Organization) as one of their members reached out to me to let me know that my gross stereotyping was unfounded. No Joke.

Secondly—the Librarian (the actual person in the room I was describing) reached out to me and let me know she is still turning the pedals and on her way for a second attempt at the century ride around Tahoe. I am thrilled she is back. I want to publicly apologize for calling her “soft.”

I am sorry to let any of you down—but if I was hit by a car during a century ride—I am not sure I would have the internal fortitude to get back on on the same bath that put me in the way of a 2,000 pound moving piece of metal. The “Librarian” is tough as nails in my book.

To the Librarian—I will see you in Tahoe and I will buy you a drink at the after party. I owe you that for being the inspiration that enabled me to sign on the dotted line. I owe you that for enabling me to achieve something I never would have dreamed of doing.

13 Days left before my big fat ride
